- Characters must both self-identify as female in the work of fiction within the primary relationship in the fanwork to be posted here.
- This means that biological females that self-identify as male are not applicable if they are in the primary relationship because then the relationship will be defined as het (or m/m if both identify as gay or bisexual males) by this community’s standards.
- Biologically female characters (that identify as female) within the primary relationship that is the focus of the fanwork may be paired with either: 1) other biological female characters that identify as female, or 2) biological male characters that identify as female.
- Biologically male characters that identify as female within the primary relationship that is the focus of the fanwork may be paired with either: 1) biological female characters that identify as female, or 2) other biological male characters that identify as female.
- Characters that do not identify as a particular gender within the primary relationship will not be allowed at this time.
- Relationships can be romantic, sexual, or gen. There must, however, be a pairing of some nature (sexual, love, friendship) to be included in this archive because that is the nature of femmeslash.
- Characters must be at least 16 years old per the age of consent in the UK if they are participating in sexual activities. For members in locations with higher ages of consent, please be mindful of local regulations. The mods are not responsible for your decisions to view content, especially if it is in violation with local laws where you live.
- All themes are allowed in regards to consent, dynamics, etc. Please be mindful of other readers. Warnings must be provided.
- The following fanwork types are accepted here: filk, fanfiction, podfic, fanart, comics, crafts, meta, etc, with rules per content type.
- Disclaimer: Harry Potter characters are the property of J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury/Scholastic. No profit is being made, and no copyright infringement is intended.
- Content must be centered on Harry Potter characters. Harry Potter Real Person Fic (with the actors) is not permitted here.
- Crossovers are allowed so long at least one character in the main relationship is from Harry Potter.
- Side pairings and background relationships can be of any type: het, slash, or femmeslash.
- The following sexual identities for our female-aligned characters within our main relationships in our fanworks are permissible: bicurious, bisexual, lesbian, polysexual, pansexual. Straight/heterosexual relationships as the main pairing is not allowed.
- Threesomes/Moresomes in the main relationship must have all partners self-identify as female because femmeslash in this community is defined as a relationship between two female-aligned people, whether it is sexual in nature or not. Think of it more as a sapphic proclivity than as “femmeslash” since the slash aspect of that word implies that there will be or has been sex.
- Any post that says “Mods.... delete this if not allowed” will be deleted automatically.
- All promotions posts must first have permission from a mod. The mods don’t bite, and you can leave a request to promote in the Page-a-Mod post.
Posting Rules:
General Posting Rules
- All graphics, R or higher material, and fanworks longer than 200 words must be behind a cut.
- A header must be supplied and placed outside the cut. Examples will be provided below in each section.
- Tagging should include: Rating, Character, Fanwork Type and Relationship. If you need a tag, please use the “* needs tagging” tag. For fanfiction, you can also include genre and length. If applicable, please include the crossover fandom. In cases of crossovers, pairings will not be indicated to minimize the number of tags we need to utilize. (Character, relationship and crossover fandom tags will be added as fanworks are posted so if you're the first to post that character/pairing/etc, then you'll need a tag from a mod.)
- Please limit posts to five posts per day to respect everyone’s feed. It is okay to crosspost old works, but let’s try not to spam everyone in the process. *wink*
- Please title your entries appropriately. Examples -
FIC: Title (Pairing, Rating)
ART: Title (Character/Pairing, Rating)
VID: Title (Pairing, Rating)
PODFIC: Title (Pairing, Rating)

Fanfiction Guidelines
- There is no word limit for fanfiction.
- Always spell-check your story before posting. We also encourage you to have someone beta-read for you but it is not required for this community, unless the work is for a fest that the community hosted and then the work would fall under fest rules.
- For browsing ease, we encourage you to include the following information in the header info of your fic posts: title, author, rating, content notes (ie, warnings, kinks, etc, if applicable), spoiler info, summary/excerpt, pairing, wordcount. You can use the template below, though it isn't mandatory as long as you use something similar.
Fanart
- All kinds of fanart are welcome; any media, type, etc. You can submit manips, wallpapers, banners, icons, drawings, layouts, sculptures, cartoons, comics... As long as it is fannish and has something to with Harry Potter Femmeslash as defined by this community, we want you to share it with us!
- An icon post should have no less than 5 icons. They can, however, be different versions of the same icon.
- For browsing ease, we encourage you to include the following information in the header info of your fanart posts: title, fandom, rating, content notes (ie, warnings, kinks, spoilers, etc, if applicable), summary. You can use the template below, though it isn't mandatory as long as you use something similar.
Fanvids
- Please embed your vids in your post. If you can’t embed, and you want to link to an off-site page, get mod approval before you post.
- Do not set your vid to autoplay.
- Warn for physical triggers (e.g. epilepsy or migraine: strobe lights, bright lights, "stuttery" cuts between 2-3 stills). You can state that you’re choosing not to warn, if necessary, but we do encourage warnings.
- If your vid has not work safe material, be sure to place behind a cut.
- For browsing ease, we encourage you to include the following information in the header info of your vid posts: title, fandom, song, rating, length, content notes (ie, warnings, kinks, spoilers, etc, if applicable), summary. You can use the template below, though it isn't mandatory as long as you use something similar.
Podfic
- Podfic can be of any length.
- Please get author permission before you post a podfic. (Here is a list of authors who have given blanket permission.)
- You can host the podfic audiofile anywhere that’s convenient for you, as long as it available for streaming within the post. Streaming sites include vocaroo.com and soundcloud.com.
- You are not required to include a download link.
- For browsing ease, we encourage you to include the following information in the header info of your podfic posts: title, fandom, reader's name, author's name, link to text version of story, rating, length and file size, content notes (ie, warnings, kinks, spoilers, etc, if applicable), summary. You can use the template below, though it isn't mandatory as long as you get all the required information in there. Please keep podficcer's notes brief or put them behind a cut-tag.
Fanmixes
- Fanmixes should have no less than 5 songs.
- Please include as a streamable playlist instead of a downloadable file; this community does not endorse illegal music distribution. Options for this: soundcloud, youtube, etc.
- For browsing ease, we encourage you to include the following information in the header info of your fanmix posts: title, fandom, content notes (ie, warnings, kinks, spoilers, etc, if applicable), summary. You can use the template below, though it isn't mandatory as long as you get all the required information in there.
Rec Sets
- A rec set is a list of fanworks that you think relate to our community focus: Harry Potter Femmeslash as defined in this post—and that you have enjoyed, obviously. Sets can be mixed; you can rec stories, vids and fanart in one set.
- A rec set can have no less than 3 recs. The recs can be fanfic, fanart, fanvids, podfic, icons... any kind of fan-creation you can get your hands on.
- All recced fanworks should be linked to. Please do not repost the fanwork to the community.
- All links should lead to unlocked posts. Locked journal entries or websites where membership is required to view the content are not appropriate for recs.
- The required information for recs is the same as the posting requirements of that type of work to the community.
- We encourage you to include with each rec why you enjoyed that fanwork. Consider things like: style, theme, pace, etc.
- Rec Sets for other languages are also encouraged. Fandom does not speak only English *grin*
Meta
- Any kind of non-fiction fannish writing that relates to the community theme will be accepted.
- Meta submissions may involve picspams.
- There is no word limit for meta submissions.
- Please remember to spell-check your work before posting.

Filk
- Please provide streaming to your filk in your post.
- Do not set your streaming file to autoplay.
- Include a copy of the text underneath a cut.
- If your vid has not work safe material, place behind a cut.

Other Fanworks
- If you can make something that is fannish and fits the community theme, we welcome it, no matter how unusual. A tattoo design, a song, a poem, a bonsai, a bento! We want them all.
- If you’re not sure about whether your work qualifies or need advice on how to post, say, a knitting project, please don’t hesitate to contact the mods or check out I Made a Thing @ Dreamwidth for examples.
